Sonship Assumes Fatherhood

And obvious truth: to be a son, there has to be a father. Another obvious truth: that we are children of God at all, depends upon the love of the Father.

So how did we miss this in our discussions (so many years ago) about sonship? Let’s go over basic scriptures, to see what they really say. A little Greek, but mostly just the flow of the original argument, establishes that sonship is about growing in what was given us in our birth — rather than about some new “gospel” of works, etc.

I think you will rejoice when you get the idea.

Mentioned as preaching sonship rooted in the love of God:  Dan Nori’s course hosted by Joseph Peck, January 2019, and Johnny Enlow’s Rise 7 podcast #133 and  #87.

What Does a Mature Son of God look like?

A Clear idea of what a mature Son of God looks like. This answers “what about eschatology?” and “What about 7M?” Quick mention of Rev 12 and I Thessalonians 5. What does a Son of God look like? Like JESUS. See Acts 10:38. So let’s see every one de-oppressed. How about that?

History of “The Move”

Here is a brief history of what has been called the “Sam Fife Body of Christ Move of God.”

Not trying to call anyone out and not overlooking the blemishes. The point is to not replicate the mistakes made in the past. All respect to those who stepped out and risked much in order to answer the call to “go all the way with God.”

Nevertheless, if I am tasked with repreaching this, then it would be my duty to put the discussion into some historical context. Not saying this is exhaustive. Please feel free to add any concise, civil addition you yourself know of by eye witness.

History of the Latter Rain

Although probably many of the members of the “Sam Fife – Body of Christ- Move of God” do not know it, their doctrine and methods largely came from the Latter Rain, a movement started in North Battleford Saskatchewan in 1948. They started as a prophetic movement, had five fold ministries, used typological preaching, and had conventions on the holidays. George Hawtin and George Warnock where among the leaders. They still exist. I relate just a bit about the history of the founding here.

I Will Ascend – 3 of 3

Finishing out the “There is a Fine Line Between Sonship Doctrine and The ‘I Will Ascend’ Doctrine.  Substituting ourselves for the unique, begotten Son, Jesus who is the Lord God is over the line and into the “I will ascend” doctrine.  Check out Sam Fife’s original booklets, particularly Man, Maid, and Manchild, to see the substitution for Jesus. The ministry was the bridegroom. This is no longer taught, but is revealing.Good example of what to be careful.

I Will Ascend 2

Continuing our thought, we talk about thinking one is better than others simply because one has accepted the sonship message.

Let’s keep the feast of unleavened bread. Let’s remember, Jesus is the firstfruits. We are in Him because of God’s grace, His faithfulness, and our identification with Jesus in baptism. That is what the Bible says.

Something else, is off the path. Something like vaunting our selves is more like what Lucifer did. Let’s don’t go down that path.

I Will Ascend 1 of 3

I have always said there is a fine line between sonship doctrine and the “I will ascend” doctrine.  I thought other people said it too. In any case, let’s make that line very clear, highlighted, and noticed — so we all back away from it. Let’s not go over it. Satan has always perverted truth. That is his method. And the greater the truth, perhaps the more concerted and perverted is the twist.

This is not the last podcast, but it is the one (or 3)  that perhaps is the most important, the one without which I couldn’t advertise the podcast. Thank God, I finally got it up, in time for Passover and Resurrection Sunday in 2020. So much is going on. So quickly. This seems so behind, but I am working as fast as I can.

Please share. Please share it with people who are confused and upset about this issue. I hope it helps a lot.

Answer to Covid-19 Hidden in Purim Story

Several things in the Purim story (Esther, Mordecai and Haman) are very prophetic. What I noticed today is that the King himself didn’t undo the bad decree, but let Esther and Mordecai head up the routing of Haman’s plans. The King, however, did take care of Haman, who died on his own gallows.

We were told by more than one prophet that there would be a shaking this spring. The world is certainly shaken by the covid-19 corona virus. It is proving a great time for China’s people and government to see how helpful the Christians have been, risking their lives to help others, identified in yellow jackets. It would be a great time for Christians here to prove themselves helpful: non-fearful, non-greedy, and compassionate. Certainly, many are calling us to prayer. Many have urged more prudence than the governments and official medical folks are offering. I always have a virus protocol, scientifically cited on my GreatShalom.org site (a list of supplements like garlics and over the counter sometimes very counter-intuitive things). Dr. Braverman and Dr. Gabriel Cousens are circulating their suggestions (hydration and essential oils and homepathics respectively). Perry Stone ended his prayer meeting tonight with some basic ways to build up immunity including Vitamin C and Vitamin D and elderberry juice. More than one of us have remembered John G. Lake’s experience helping in the plague in South Africa. Plague germs would die when they touched him — verified under a microscope.

Let’s us stand up as sons and daughters of God and be like Jesus. If our immunity is built up as much as John G Lake’s good, but whatever level we are, let us pick up the weapons and gifts we have — and not lay them slack on the ground mesmerized and paralyzed by the enemy. No! We remember the heart of what we were about: Jesus. We follow Jesus. Let’s do what Jesus would do. Amen.

Blessings of health, healing, wholeness, wisdom and God’s peace be to you, yours, your city and your nation. Amen.

Vilification or Evil Speaking – Prominent Topic for Aspiring Sons

One of John Wesley’s most famous sermons was “The Cure of Evil Speaking.”  “Evil speaking” comes from Ephesians 4: 31. Wesley translated it “vilification.” Modern Americans might say informally “speaking bad about a brother or sister in the Lord.” Wesley’s cure was Matthew 18. Once one considers the matter, one is given a great and important insight.

We know that our words matter. However, this is a point, this speaking ill of other sons/daughters that has been overlooked, forgotten, not understood, or intentionally perverted. This is vital information for any who are intending ( or eve were once intending) to mature into the Sons/’Uios of God.

Wesley Gave a Good Foundation for Sonship Doctrine

If one wishes to build a tall building, and not have it fall down, then a good foundation is in order. Since John Wesley was the first person known to preach perfection, and since he had no scandals and is agreed to have been a responsible and charismatic leader, let us see — and pay attention to — the foundation he laid.

More recent sonship movements have become skewed, faltering, and even perverse when they left the basic doctrine of salvation. Let’s review those in Wesley’s 4 point sermon that he gave all helpers. He made it simple so that uneducated men and women could preach. Here are the 4 points: All people must be saved. All people can be saved. All people can know they are saved. All can be saved to the uttermost/max. (Modern language.)

If we forget that Jesus’ work saved us, we get off track. However, we have not gone the full way if we don’t consider that we can be saved to the max. That is sonship.

BTW, there is more from Wesley on the podcast. Please be sure you are subscribed on a podcast platform. Doesn’t look like I have up a way to subscribe to this blog. If you want that, you may let me know. Thanks.
